Help! A friend told me about this Web site she saw me on, and I don't know how to get my picture off! It is a gossipy style trashy site and I'm about to graduate and start the job hunt! What do I do?!? - Skimpy Dress Pic!
Oh dear. Well, I'm assuming you have cleaned up your Facebook page, MySpace (if you still have one), and checked a person-scanning site like www.123people.com as well, because if not, you might have more to worry about! Although this picture being up may be embarrassing and annoying, they can be extremely hard to have taken down unless the photo was stolen from you, or a couple of other illegal instances (for example if it shows nudity and you are underaged). However, it sounds like this was just an oops-I-got-caught photo. Try e-mailing the site with your reasoning, but if they are anything like "Nik" of thedirty.com, I doubt you will have much luck. If you do have good legal cause, consider hiring a lawyer because after all, our internet presences can be extremely important in the job hiring process. They are essentially the "first impression" without even stepping foot in the door to interview. Good luck!
I love chewing gum and always find myself in sticky (pardon my pun) situations at restaurants. What is the polite etiquette to removing my gum before the meal? - Terence S.
This situation can be tricky, I have been in it plenty of times before. My mother would tell you the only correct way to avoid this problem is to excuse yourself to the washrooms and remove the gum into a paper towel and dispose of it there. I, however, think it depends on the situation. For instance, if you're just chowing down at McDonald's, just stick it to a napkin, fry box (or bag), burger wrapper, or even the soft drink lid! I mean, it's Ronald's house, he is fine with it! However there are step-up from $2 meal places that still have paper napkins where I wouldn't suggest doing this, especially if you are on a date! As a final rule of thumb, never put the gum into a cloth napkin, many times these are meant to be re-used for a long time and save waste. Not too concerned with being 100 percent proper? The edge of the plate passes I guess…
My friends from an Oregon school always cheer against UW when we are watching games together. I have never had anything against their team, but they always give me a hard time. What's their deal? - Indifferent Fan
In all honesty, I can't help much on this one. My friends are Ducks fans and they seem to have something against UW. I thought UW and WSU were the rivalry? I could care less about it as well. I have never been such a huge supporter of any team that I hate all other teams. So, you are on your own on this one! Go local sports teams!!!
